This week for breakfast we are having coffee protein smoothies. And they are delicious. One scoop chocolate peanut butter protein, one scoop collagen, 1 tablespoon peanut butter, handful of spinach, 2 frozen coffee ice cubes, a banana, 1/2 cup of almond milk, handful of ice. Blend and enjoy. Mmm.
We are going over some practice MAP tests with all 3 grade levels – 6th, 7th, and 8th, so the morning was spent working with kiddos at school. By the time I got back to my office, it was time for lunch, so I heated up my chicken pot pie and chowed down. I also had some cinnamon applesauce.
The necessities. Office supplies, Nuun, and lotion.
Shoot, I was so tired yesterday. Eyes burning, couldn’t think straight tired. I came home from school, cleaned up my kitchen, did some laundry, then planted myself on the couch. I put up some decorations on Monday for Valentine’s Day, so I enjoyed those while I tried to keep myself from going to bed at 4PM.
Even our bar is feeling festive. I love decorating for different seasons and holidays.
Before I left for work Tuesday morning, I threw THIS soup into the crockpot and I couldn’t wait for it. It’s a Chicken Fajita Soup and it is amazing. Our house smelled so good when I walked in after school.
I topped mine with avocado, plain Greek yogurt, and Sriracha. Oh, and a tiny bit of Parmesan cheese. It was incredible. I also had some blue corn tortilla chips on the side, because who can resist chips. Not me. If you like soup, I HIGHLY recommend this one.
Just a girl, her VERY sore muscles, and a super snuggly Aussie. I foam rolled for about 20 minutes last night. I came close to tears a few times…my body is not used to marathon training. I think it’ll take a few weeks to get back into the swing of things. Did I mention that I went to bed at 7PM? #thisis30
I told Jake the other day that I missed running with him – we used to run together every single morning! I LOVE my gal pal group, but I also want to get a few runs in with my man, so we decided that Wednesday mornings will be our run date. We were going to start today. Well, poor Jake worked until about 3:45AM, HA! My alarm went off at 4AM, he walked in, gave me a smooch, and said he had been waiting in the kitchen for about 10 minutes for my alarm to go off to see if I wanted to run. I asked him if he was off today and he said no, he needed to go back in this afternoon. I told him he needed sleep more than a run – he felt bad that he was missing our first run back together. He’s so sweet. I laughed and told him to go to bed. He happily obliged. I don’t know how he works through the night. I couldn’t do it!
I still got up at 4AM, but I just didn’t feel like working out. I had a sore calf and felt more motivated to pick up around the house, so I foam rolled and cleaned. I’ll get in an arm workout after school. I have an early meeting this morning, so I need to leave about an hour earlier anyway.
I am already excited for dinner – more chicken fajita soup!
Happy Wednesday, friends!
