Super exciting news + celebrating + weekend fun!

I am so excited to finally announce I have accepted a position as a professor with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for next school year.  all online courses at both the master’s and doctoral levels. We will not be moving down there, but I will travel to campus pretty often. I am so, so excited for this next adventure. It is a little bittersweet, since I love my current position and the people I work with so much, but after working toward this dream and my PhD for 11 years, I am ready for this new adventure in higher education.

Here we go!

I hadn’t wanted to tell anyone about my new job until my principal and my teachers at school. I had a long talk with my principal last week about everything, where I cried to him, ha! But I was finally able to tell all of the teachers in my building yesterday. Everyone is so wonderful and they were so excited and happy for me. Our heat has been weird at school lately, so everyone has been staying pretty bundled up all day. It’s a perfect excuse to wear some cute scarves.

I signed up for a race in April! I’m going to go to Bentonville to run the half marathon there with some girlfriends. I am really excited for this race.

We have our kids filling out some incentive ideas for MAP testing. I loved this one. The student thought they should just work hard because that is the expectation.

I came home to this. I’m sure our delivery person hated me yesterday.

Jake took me out to dinner last night to celebrate. We went to Cesar’s because I had been craving their new champagne margarita. It was incredible.

We shared the appetizer sampler, which is full of all kinds of delicious things.

I wanted to venture out and try something new, so I got the shrimp quesadilla. It was crazy delicious. 

So thankful for this guy support through all of life’s adventures. They wouldn’t be half as fun without him, and I wouldn’t be able to accomplish the things I do without him by my side.

I am going to a fun event today here in town, so I took a personal day from school. We have no other crazy plans weekend plans other than running and I might go out with some girlfriends to celebrate my new job. I think that’s about it!
