So sad to hear about Kobe Bryant and his daughter passing away. Praying for peace and comfort for their family as well as the families of the others who were in the helicopter.
This weekend flew by. It was full of long runs, relaxing, and lots of girlfriend time.
Let’s rewind to Thursday evening – I had been wanting an electric blanket for a long time, so I finally found one and ordered it. I shared a link to this blanket at the end of this post, but I am obsessed with this one. I’ve been using it every day since I got it.
It’s fleece and so cozy.
Even Lu loves it.
Our friends, Mike and Liz, FaceTimed me on Thursday after dinner to congratulate me on my new job. They’re so sweet. They live in Tulsa, so we do not get to see them as often as we would like, but we are trying to find a time this spring to go visit them.
On Friday morning, I went to an event called 417 Think Summit. It was an event for a bunch of different local businesses to come together. It was pretty fun! They held it at the Art Museum, which I hadn’t been to in so long.
It snowed a little bit on Friday, so I took a little stroll around the Art Museum, enjoying the views before heading home.
This dog…Rhea laid like this for about 30 seconds. She was just holding her toy in her paws above her head. It was hilarious.
Jake went to dinner with his Dad Friday night, then came home and fell asleep on the couch.
Saturday morning started with 10 miles in the snow with my girls. We spent the miles chatting, telling stories, and laughing. It was a wonderful way to start the weekend.
Kayla makes sure to always add a certain sense of gangster to our group. We are lucky to have her. She’s so fierce.
I have not put color in my hair for about 3 years, but I was craving some kind of change, so I decided it was time for a little something-something. My hair lady is the BEST. I told her what I wanted, which probably didn’t make any sense, and she knew exactly what to do! I see Christine Austin at Mojo Pie. I have been going to her for about 6-7 years or so, maybe longer. She always makes me feel like a new woman.
She added mostly lowlights and a few highlights. I wanted low maintenance and something that could grow out on its own. She nailed it! Thank you, Christine!
On Saturday night, Jake and I went to dinner at Galloway. We were both craving burgers and theirs are some of our favorites! Everything was delicious.
After dinner, a bunch of my girlfriends came over to celebrate my new job with me. Some of their significant others came with them to hang out with Jake. The girls wanted Jake to drop us off at the bar in the van, so we all loaded up and headed to Midnight Rodeo. Brittany and I lounged on the mattress in the back while everyone else sat in folding chairs.
We had a blast at Midnight Rodeo. I was feeling so blessed to have such awesome gal pals. A couple of girls met the rest of us at the bar and we all had a blast dancing and singing.
We did ALL the line dancing. All of it. We had such a blast attempting to figure out all of the new line dances everyone was doing.
While we waited outside for our Uber, Alex got a little chilly, so Brittany helped keep her warm with her sweater. True friend right there!
Sunday morning started with some protein oats – I like adding an egg, a scoop of protein powder, and a scoop of collagen to my oats. I add the egg before everything cooks, then I add the protein powder and collagen once everything is cooked.
Jake and I helped my family move some things from my Grandma’s condo Sunday afternoon, then we grabbed an early dinner at Houlihan’s. It was delicious.
Here are some of my favorite supplements.
These are the protein powders we have been using lately. I am obsessed with both flavors. They are SO delicious in smoothies, oatmeal, and coffee! I love making protein coffee – it’s a healthier way to add some extra flavor and goodness to your coffee. The first one is Chocolate Peanut Butter and the second is Vanilla Ice Cream. I also love the Cake Batter protein. They’re ALL so good.
This is the collagen I use every day. I either put it in smoothies or my coffee. It’s unflavored, so you can add it to anything.
This hand frother is a game changer. It blends the protein in my coffee PERFECTLY. I use it almost every day.
Here’s the electric blanket I shared earlier. I LOVE it.
Enjoy!
Happy Monday, friends!
