Kids do such dumb things sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, I love kids, especially middle schoolers, but man, they aren’t always the brightest. I was in a classroom yesterday and a couple of boys had strange wounds on their hands. It was the exact same bloodied cut in the exact same spot on both of them. I asked them about it a couple of times and they finally told me that it is something called the Eraser Challenge. Apparently, you rub an eraser in the same spot over and over again while reciting something or saying the alphabet. The “winner” is the person who can get the furthest through whatever it is they are reciting while still burning their skin with the eraser. I did a little bit of research on it and it just blows my mind that kids do this kind of stuff to themselves. You can read more about it HERE and HERE. I immediately emailed our school counselor and she talked to the boys and had them call home. If you are a parent, be on the lookout for this type of thing. I guess it used to be popular a few years ago, but it’s back…
I had another smoothie for breakfast yesterday, but forgot to take a picture. I woke up with the beginnings of a migraine, but I was supposed to spend the morning in a classroom with a teacher, so I wanted to see if my migraine would hold off through that. I managed to be in her classroom for two class periods, but then decided to take a half day. I came home, ate lunch, then crawled into bed. A little bit of medicine and a two-hour nap made all of the difference.
Lunch was delicious. I ended up swapping my dinner and lunch yesterday. I had a chicken taco, topped with spicy guacamole, plain Greek yogurt, and salsa. It hit the spot.
I wasn’t sure if a workout would happen yesterday with how my head was feeling, but when I woke up feeling almost back to normal, I decided to hop on the treadmill and see what happened. I knocked out three easy miles while watching Private Pactice. Lu sat like this the entire time I ran.
After my run, I did a 30-minute strength training leg workout. Lu was proud when I finished.
While I worked out in our office, Jake worked out in our garage gym. He said his workout was hard and this is how he felt after it.
He made the mistake of laying down on my yoga mat. If you were on the floor in our house, you are fair game.
For dinner, Jake had chicken tacos and I had my salad and tuna packets. SO good. I love both of these flavors of tuna.
I didn’t run this morning – I woke up with a sore foot, but I am going to see how things feel after work. I think it’s just a tweaked muscle or something that will loosen up as I move around. Trail Sisters Springfield is hosting a workout with Ragnar tonight! Ladies, if you’re free, come join us! There will be a little running, some cross training, a raffle with prizes, and delicious beer! HERE is a link to the event.
Happy Friday Eve, friends!
