I moved my work space to our living room yesterday. This coworker slept the entire time I worked.
I took a break for lunch and had more tofu and half of a salad kit. I love this lunch. It’s SO easy to make, which makes it even better.
I worked all afternoon making phone calls to parents and meeting with teachers. I logged off my computer around 3PM. A few minutes later, one of my coworkers texted me saying the governor had made the official announcement that schools in Missouri would remain closed the rest of the year. I felt all the emotions. Sad, nervous, unsure, excited about online learning, loss. My heart breaks for high school seniors who are going to miss out on all the fun end of the year parts of senior year. My heart breaks for the students in my school who might not have the best home lives. School is a safe place for them. I am so thankful we are able to continue to provide food for families, but it’s not the same as providing them a safe space to come to every day. My heart breaks because I miss my work family. My heart breaks because I will never be in a school setting like this again…I start my new job as a college professor in August. I am ecstatic about this new role, but I also am feeling some loss. I have been in a school/classroom as an educator since 2011. There are a lot of unknowns right now, which can be scary. I am praying extra hard for our kiddos, their families, and our nation’s leaders. Sending everyone virtual hugs. Aaaaand if you need a virtual happy hour, I’m your girl.
I finally started watching Tiger King on Netflix. Holy cow – what a disaster. I’m only on episode 3, but I think I spent most of my time watching just shaking my head. Popcorn makes the best snack.
This little furball was extra cuddly yesterday. I loved it. She had to be touching me no matter what I was doing. She’s not always down to cuddle, so I soaked it up.
Dinner last night consisted of chicken nuggets, green beans, and sweet potato fries. So delicious!
My morning view – all the meetings. My Mom is stopping by to drink coffee with me outside in a little bit, so I’m looking forward to seeing her.
I have a long run tomorrow and then we are picking up my car that I will use to drive down to Arkansas. We’d love to get a bike ride in sometime this weekend, so keeping my fingers crossed we are able to!
Stay safe and healthy, everyone. Wish I could squeeze all of you!
Happy Friday, friends!
