This weekend was a good one! It was filled with family time, being outside, and lots of delicious food. I was feeling lazy Friday morning, so I grabbed one of these Flap Jack bowls from our pantry. I got a few of these a couple months ago, but I keep forgetting about them. They’re pretty delicious! You just add water and microwave – so easy! It’s a pancake in a bowl. This one was Chocolate Peanut Butter. Mmm.
This is my all-time favorite quote. Reading aloud to kids is one of the best things we can do. As we continue learning remotely, I thought it was important to share this.
After my morning meetings on Friday, I had a snack before taking a short break to get a workout in. This was the last piece of our beer bread. I need to take a break from making it because I cannot stop eating it…
It had been FOREVER since I had done a TRX workout, so I wrote up a short 30 minute one and knocked it out during my lunch time. It hurt! This is post-workout crazy hair. I did each of the following moves for a minute: jumping Jacks, bicep curls, jump squats, dips, sprinters, and plank/pike. I repeated all of that 5 times.
After my workout, it was time for lunch, which was a taco salad, and some pretzels and with PB, which is one of my favorite snacks.
Kacey Musgraves is one of my favorite artists and has a song called Biscuits with these lyrics in it, so when I saw this shirt, I knew I had to have it. It says, “Mind your own biscuits and life will be gravy.” SO true!
Friday was my in-laws’ 27th wedding anniversary, so we headed over to their house to have dinner with them to celebrate. The weather was wonderful, so we sat outside and ate the most delicious things. I also found this beer at Macadoodle’s and it is SO good – it’s a sour IPA.
Tank, my mother-in-law’s puppy, is OBSESSED with Lulu. He followed her around all night. When she sat on my lap, he sat right below her and just stared at her. It was hilarious.
We also had apple turnovers with Andy’s icecream. YUM. I was stuffed when we left.
Penny, Jake’s Momma, gave me these amazing cheetah boots. I wore them over to their house for dinner Friday. I LOVE them.
Saturday morning consisted of 15 miles in the wind and rain. It literally stopped raining about the time we finished our run, HA!
It was a great run with these two. It was Becca’s (on the left) longest run EVER and she crushed it, so that made the miles so fun. Plus, who doesn’t love a good photoshoot after a long run…jumping pictures are hard after 15 miles.
I really wanted Chic-fil-A breakfast, but they stop serving at 10:30. It was a little after that when we finished our run, so I ran through Sonic and grabbed burritos for me and Jake. These hit the spot!
I spent most of Saturday working around the house and lounging on the couch. I was so worn out from our run. For dinner, we headed to my parents’ house. My Mom and I had on matching plaid.
My parents’ picked up dinner for us and it was DELICIOUS. We had ribs, smoked chicken, mac n cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread, and dessert.
I got to love on this little cutie – isn’t her dinosaur nightgown adorable? And my Mom sent home some leftover steak for her Granddogs. She had it in this container in their fridge. HA!
Sunday morning consisted of a little sleeping in, followed by breakfast and then lunch. This breakfast container is a cauliflower hot cereal and I was a little unsure about it. Holy yum – it is incredible. You just add water to it and microwave. You can also add milk and leave it in the fridge over night for “over night oats”. I want to try that! I was craving Quizno’s for lunch, so we grabbed sandwiches Sunday afternoon.
After lunch, we hopped on our bikes and rode around town. We got 20 miles in and by the end, I was toast. I think I was so worn out from my run on Saturday and our ride, I felt kind of sick and just laid on the couch for awhile when we finished riding. We did stop and grab a drink from 4 By 4 on our way home, so that was fun! Today is a much needed rest day for me. I have angry knees and am just beat.
Welp, I hate that I discovered this combination. So delicious. You need two mini marshmallows with one chocolate chip. YUM.
Sunday afternoon was spent lounging on the couch with this little girl.
I cannot believe that it will be MAY on Friday…April flew by but was also the slowest month ever…if that even makes sense. I hope everyone has a fantastic Monday!
Happy Monday, friends!
