Another day, another delicious breakfast.
I spent the morning on my computer, which is pretty normal. I am WAY more productive in the AM, so I try to get most of my work done before 1PM. Anyone else have certain times of the day when they’re most productive?
Before I realized it, it was 1:30 and I hadn’t had lunch – that never happens. I heated up my fish and veggies and ate in my office while watching The Office.
After I logged off from work for the day, I wrote up a quick workout and headed out to our garage to knock it out. I am SORE this morning. Here’s what I did!
After my workout, I hopped in the tub for an Epsom salt soak and a little reading. Rhea stood like this the entire time…
I cannot stop with this smoothie for dinner. It’s basically a super healthy dessert, which I am on board for…I don’t know why it took me so long to top my smoothies with mini marshmallows and chocolate chips, but I have definitely been missing out!
After dinner, we took the girls on a two mile walk around our neighborhood. The weather was amazing.
The morning started with eight miles with these ladies. We did six as a whole group, then Jordan and I went out for two more. It was a cool morning, which is my favorite for running. I am not ready for summer running. At all. I don’t like running in the heat.
This memory made me smile. Eight years ago today I got my very first teaching job AND began my master’s because I wanted to teach at the college-level one day. I taught 5th grade at Hollister Elementary School. It was the BEST first year of teaching and I still remember all of my kiddos and amazing colleagues. After that first year teaching 5th grade, I spent two years teaching 7th grade English Language Arts, then spent two years as a 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade reading specialist, then took a year off to finish my doctorate, and am currently an instructional learning coach for the same middle school where I was a reading specialist. I still cannot believe that in August I start my dream job of being a college professor. SO. CRAZY. To think that eight years ago I was preparing to teach in my first classroom AND preparing for my master’s courses blows my mind. Time sure does fly, huh?
Happy Friday Eve, friends!
