Lu’s favorite place to sleep – any rug or blanket she can find.
A little chili and some computer work before heading over to work on the house!
I started working on building my spring courses. This is the only way I can keep track of everything – I have a folder and a notepad for each course. On the notepads, I plan out each week, then use the notepad throughout the course to take notes about readings, weekly things student say, questions they ask, things I need to change next year, etc. I was feeling super overwhelmed trying to keep track of things at the beginning of the fall semester and this has helped SO much. Whenever I go to work on a course, I just grab the folder for it and I have everything I need. Once we get into the house, I will keep each folder on a bookshelf with the texts I use in each course. I think that will be perfect.
After I knocked out a little work, Lu and I headed over to the house to meet Jake and Rhea. She got to sit on my lap with her head out the window once we got in the neighborhood. It’s her favorite thing.
My Mom worked her tush off yesterday. I think she helped up for almost 7 hours! She peeled basically ALL the wallpaper in our living room. She is the BEST! Thanks, Momma!
Jake and I both have GXs and my Mom has an RX. This picture made my laugh.
This man is incredible. He pulled out ALL of the carpet in our house (every single room except the kitchen and laundry) in two days. I don’t know how he does stuff like this so quickly, but I’m sure glad he’s mine!
All of this wallpaper (the top layer) is gone, too! We accomplished SO much yesterday. And made a lot of messes…
Kayla came by after her ride and my Dad came by after he played golf. We sat in our living room and enjoyed some delicious Mexican. Jake’s parents stopped by later in the evening, too. Jake and I are so thankful for our family and friends – I don’t know how we got so lucky.
My Mom: “Don’t you want me to take your picture so you can remember this wallpaper?!” HA! Sure…
I was SO tired last night. I think I crawled into bed around 9:30 or so, but then Jake got home and I just wanted to talk to him about our house. He finally made me go to sleep around 10 since I was getting up at 4 to meet the girls. I am just so excited about all of the progress we are making on our house! I did not want to get up when my alarm went off, but I knew I would regret not getting to run with the girls, so I got up, got dressed, and did a little foam rolling. Rhea tried to help/cuddle.
It was warm this morning, so we were all missing the cooler weather we had last week. We knocked out 6 miles together and talked the entire time. I was tired at the end of our run, so I was glad I was with the girls.
Rhea was pretty pooped, too.
Happy Friday Eve, friends!
