A little tip to beat treadmill boredom – intervals of any kind! I was NOT feeling a run yesterday, so I wrote up a little workout. It kicked my butt! I asked Jake to sit out in the sunroom with me for the last round of speed stuff to make sure I didn’t quit. I just needed a little accountability. Here’s what I did: 1.5 mile warm-up, 3 x 1 mile at 7:30 with 1/2 mile recovery, 1 mile cool-down. It makes for a total of 7 miles. It really did make the time go by quickly, but the last fast mile was pretty challenging for me. I was so glad when it was over! Nice and red-faced after that workout run.
Exciting news – the blinds we ordered for our living room finally came in! We had to get custom blinds since our window is so big, but we were very ready for them to come in because you can see straight into our house from the road without them. Eventually, when we replace the windows, we most likely won’t hang blinds on this big one, probably will stick with a curtain or something, but it’ll work great for now.
Here’s the before…
And after! These are one piece, but we can change the two sides and the middle without changing all of the blinds. Here they are with the two outside sections closed.
I am so excited to finally have these up!
I spent most of Tuesday grading research papers. Rhea patiently sat this like this waiting for me to finish with work.
I also finally got started on my next research project! I am SO excited about this. I haven’t conducted research since my dissertation work, so I am ready to jump back in and start another study. I have to fill out a bunch of forms and get everything approved by the university before I can start, but I hope to get these forms submitted within the next week and a half or so.
I need these leftovers out of my house, HA! We can’t stop eating these Doritos.
I finished grading and working on my research proposal with 30 minutes to spare, so I decided to wash and straighten my hair.
The BEST hot air hairbrush. It took me 20 minutes to dry and straighten my hair yesterday. TWENTY!! Crazy. I have a ridiculous amount of super coarse, curly hair and this thing is a life saver. I have this brush – click the picture to be taken to the brush.
Jake knocked out a little hill repeat workout before we went to dinner. SO very thankful for this treadmill.
I put some jeans on and they 100% fit like yoga pants, HA! I think I forgot that they shrink easily and tossed them in the dryer. I hope they stretch back out a little…
We met Jake’s family for dinner last night, which is always a blast.
I wore a new LipSense color – this one is called Girlfriend and I love it.
I had a burger and side salad. This burger was AMAZING. I love crispy onion fries.
Trying to mentally prepare for the dang HSG I had in the morning. I have been dreading this procedure since I found out I needed to have it last Monday. Thankful for this guy always being there for me.
We had a frustrating morning…we got to the hospital at 7AM for my HSG. I took the pain meds they gave me, so I was pretty loopy. Last time I had an HSG, they just had me take Tylenol, so that’s how I know this one is going to be worse.
They let Jake come into the procedure room with me, which was really nice. I got changed into my gown and started chatting with the doctor. He asked if I had been taking the antibiotics and I told him that no one had prescribed me any antibiotics. He looked shocked and said we needed to reschedule the procedure for tomorrow because he doesn’t want to do it if I’m not on antibiotics. UGH. So, I was all hopped up on pain meds and ready to get it over with, but now it’s pushed back to tomorrow morning. I was so tired when we got back home at 8AM that I slept until 2PM. I feel like I wasted my entire day. It was all definitely super frustrating. I’m glad they could get me back in tomorrow. Soooo, hopefully nothing else goes wrong before then.
I am trying to make the best of what is left of my day…
Happy Wednesday, friends!
