It was SO cold and windy for our run Tuesday morning. I bundled up, but definitely could’ve used another layer.
We ran around the gym Kayla and I go to so I could go to class right after our run. I had some meetings scheduled for later in the day, so I needed to go to an earlier class. It felt good to have my run and workout finished by 7AM! Thankful for friends who will run at 5AM with me!
I came home from the gym to these two sleeping. Jake’s under there somewhere.
I chowed down on a breakfast burrito while checking email.
One of my meetings got canceled, and I was SO sleepy, so I crawled into bed with Jake and Lu for a 30-minute nap.
Same sweats, new day. A co-worker told me I looked nice, so I guess I have them all fooled! Or they don’t expect much from me…probably the latter…
Lunch was another black bean and sweet potato quesadilla with lime tortilla chips.
Rhea snoozed on my rug while I worked for a little bit more after lunch. I was on the struggle bus most of yesterday. I needed to be writing, but could not find any motivation. If I’m in the mood to write, the words flow and it’s easy, but if I’m not, everything seems forced and it’s such a struggle to get a single sentence on a page. Yesterday was a definitely a struggle day for writing.
It snowed about 3-4 inches at our house yesterday…SO crazy. I was thankful we could stay inside and be cozy all day.
Jake hit up the treadmill since it was sleeting and it broke the girls’ hearts. Rhea refused to leave this spot – half on wood flood, half on plywood, HA! I know I’ve said it before, but I can’t wait to have our dining room finished!
This was one of my favorite salads. EVER. I didn’t have much of an appetite last night, so I didn’t eat dinner until around 8:30PM, but when I did finally eat, it was AMAZING. A mix of spinach and romaine with Primal Kitchen’s Caesar dressing, shrimp cooked in ghee and Primal Palate’s seafood seasoning, half an avocado, and a little balsamic drizzle. Holy. Yum. It was outstanding.
This is the dressing. It’s all we’ve been using lately. All clean ingredients and SO much flavor. It’s our favorite.Â
This is my all-time favorite seafood seasoning. I finally ended up buying it in bulk because I go through it so quickly. It’s a staple in our pantry. Always.
I made skinny frozen blackberry margaritas last night, which we sipped on while we watched a movie. I love throwing frozen fruit into drinks and either blending them or letting the fruit kind of dissolve. It adds so much flavor.
I did a little stretching while we watched our movie. That didn’t last long because someone wanted to cuddle.
This happens every morning. Rhea doesn’t sleep in our room until around midnight each night. She sleeps out in the living room or our hallway, but she always makes her way to our room around midnight. I’m not sure if it’s because that’s when Jake gets home when he works nights or what, but it’s just her routine. She does, however, always make it onto my side of the bed around 3:30AM. Every. Morning. She takes up half my side, so I’m always squished in the middle. She’s such a cuddler. The other morning, she was laying across both of us. It was hilarious. She’s a good pup.
Happy Wednesday, friends!
I like the flooring you are putting down. We are currently looking at several different kinds of wood floors. Can I ask what your dining room floors are both the product and the color?
Thank you! It was definitely my favorite from everything we looked at.
Here’s a link to the floors we have! https://www.samsclub.com/p/select-surfaces-barnwood-spill-defense-laminate-flooring/prod24470559
We got the Barnwood flooring.
Let me know if that link doesn’t for ya!
What’s your frozen blackberry margarita recipe? Looks delicious!
I eyeball everything, but if I were to try to measure it out, this is what I’d do for two servings – 3-4 ounces tequila, 1 cup ice (add more if needed), 1 cup frozen blackberries, splash of OJ, one can lime Bubly (or any lime sparkling water), and a splash of lime. Blend until it’s all mixed together and enjoy!
