It feels good to be back! I have missed you all. : ) It’s been almost a week since I last blogged, so let’s hit on some of the fun highlights that happened last week. First, Jake and I went a little crazy at At Home. We got a bunch of new outdoor pillows for our patio furniture and a super cute mirror for our entryway.
When we got home, Jake got to work making my entryway dreams come true. Here’s the space before.
It was almost scary hanging things up. We spent so much time perfecting our walls…it was hard watching nails go into them. I’m sure it was even harder for Jake since he’s the one who mudded and sanded our walls to make them perfectly smooth.
I love how this space turned out! We want a tall lamp for behind the chair, I think, but just having some things hung up sure makes our house feel cozier.
I sat on the floor in our kitchen and Rhea immediately walked over and plopped down in my lap. She’s our 40-pound lap dog.
Sometimes ya just need to watch Schitt’s Creek while eating breakfast.
The girls and I got lots of walks in. My current favorite thing to do is walk and listen to podcasts.
I am obsessed with grilled cheese sandwiches right now. I think trying to eliminate gluten and dairy has me super excited when I find something delicious without both things. My favorite dairy-free cheese is VioLife. Also, pro tip – sprinkle a little salt on each piece of bread after you butter it, before you cook your sandwich. It’s amazing.
We have also been having a lot of burritos this week. I prepped a huge thing of rice and black beans, so we just toss that mixture into a tortilla and chow down. I found some brown rice tortillas at the store and they’re pretty delicious!
Here’s my June line-up. I have finished Nineteen Minutes and am almost finished with Tapestry of Fortunes. I’ll do a review on all of these once I finish more of them!

Another day, another rice and bean burrito. These are SO good.
I laid out a TON last week. It was amazing and so relaxing. I definitely felt like I was living up my last week of summer break.

This meal was amazing. I used Shiitake mushrooms to make a sandwich that resembled BBQ pulled pork. Here’s the BBQ sauce and GF buns.
I also made buttered cabbage, which was delicious. Jake’s Dad makes this on the grill sometimes and I always love it. This meal was outstanding! And so easy.
Rhea hops in bed with me every morning. She’s a goof.
