This weekend flew by! It was full of a fun date night, poor Jake working through the night, and family time. Let’s rewind to Friday – this chickpea “lettuce” wrap filling is so delicious. I throw mine into brown rice tortilla and it hits the spot. Recipe HERE.
I spent some time laying out and reading Friday, then worked on my computer a little bit. Before I knew it, it was time for dinner. This meal was AMAZING. A gluten-free bun with a spicy veggie Thai patty, dairy-free cheese, and jalapeño relish (legit cannot stop eating this). I had a salad on the side, also with DF cheese and my favorite dressing – Garlic Expressions. YUM.
The best sandwich/burger. Ever.
I finished this book Friday night. It was really good! I think I gave it 4/5 stars on Goodreads.. It took me a little bit to get into it, but I enjoyed it.
I mentioned that I’m trying to walk the girls every day at least once. I did a good job last week! I love our morning walks. I listen to a podcast while we stroll. It is super relaxing and they love it. If you’re a fan of The Office, check out Office Ladies. It is hilarious and so fun. Jenna Fischer (who plays Pam) and Angela Kinsey (who plays Angela) break down each episode and share all kinds of behind-the-scenes facts and fun personal anecdotes. I am loving it!
After our walk, we helped Jake put together a sprinkler system for our front yard. Poor Jake went into work at 4PM Friday and didn’t get home until 8AM Saturday, which is when he typically goes to work for the day. It was nice having him home during the day on a weekend, but he was so worn out. He managed to get about 6 hours of sleep after building the sprinklers, so that was good!
We have 5 total and they work perfectly. Jake designed them to hit certain sections of our yard, so we can water different areas with each sprinkler. We don’t have to move them around at all. He’s a genius.
Breakfast after the sprinkler building was another GF pancake and an egg scramble with my all-time favorite vegan breakfast sausage, DF cheese, and avocado.
Another wrap for lunch…mmm.
When you REALLY want to get on the couch, but you’re not allowed…life is so unfair.
When you get very annoying any time it is close to when you’re normally fed…I swear Lu can tell time. The second the clock hits 4:58, she’s demanding dinner. Which she does by getting up into your face and staring at you. Like this.
After we fed the girls, we got ready for a fun date night with some friends! I threw on a dress I have only worn one other time. It is super lightweight and comfortable, so it’s perfect in the summer.
Jake walked out of the bathroom with no beard…and just this very interesting mustache… ; ) He loves to do drastic things with his facial hair and then wait to see what my reaction will be. Never a dull moment in the Bradley house!
We went to The Finley with Becca, Clark, Cassie, and Jesse. It was so fun to all be together! Jake and I shared the scallops as an appetizer, which were outstanding. I had the sea bass as my meal and wasn’t very impressed with it. The potatoes under the fish were good, but that was about all I liked. Jake ended up eating most of this. I loved the scallops, though! They were delicious.
After dinner, we hung out at the speakeasy that is under the restaurant. I sure do love these people!
Sunday morning started with a little fox watching. We have at least one family of foxes that live in our neighborhood. We see them just about every day. They’re SO fun to watch. On Sunday morning, one of them was playing on all the rocks in our backyard.
Rhea hates the heat, so if I wait too long to start our walk and it gets warm, she will protest by walking behind me…
We picked up some more cushions (not the green ones) and pillows for our new outdoor furniture at At Home last week. I LOVE how they turned out. I love anything with fringe, so I especially love that the brown/cream/beige pillows have fringe on them. I failed to take a picture of the love seat, but will try to do that tomorrow and share it.
I lounged in our chairs and enjoyed the new cushions while waiting for our families to come over for Sunday dinner. Jake had been wanting to grill, so we threw together something last minute.
Jake made his famous BBQ chicken.
We had quite the spread. Everything was so good.
I found some GF croissants at Harter House and was nervous to try them…some GF things are great and some are terrible. These are incredible! The brand is Schär. 11/10 recommend.
Family time is the best time. <3
Happy Monday, friends!
