I spend most mornings in my office. Jake and the girls always end up joining me at some point. These two sure are besties.
Breakfast was delicious. I really love these gluten-free croissants. I shared them yesterday – the brand is Schar. SO good. We also had an egg scramble and half an avocado on the side.
I knocked out a bunch of grading yesterday, then took a food break. Lunch was random leftovers – broccoli salad, green bean casserole, and guacamole. All the green things.
I am embarrassed how long it took me to do this…I love laying out and reading, but it’s been SO hot. I finally got smart and moved one of our box fans outside with me. Total game changer. I have the sunburn to prove how well it worked, too. I never got too hot! Now to remember to reapply…
After dinner, I sat out front and watered our yard. We water two sections for 20 minutes each, so the whole process takes about 40 minutes and we do that twice a day. Not too bad!
After I watered, I walked to our family friend’s house (June) for a little birthday celebration for her daughter, Adrienne. I love that we have so many close friends who live in our neighborhood. I threw on a backpack with a bottle of wine for Adrienne and listened to a podcast while I walked.
Happy early birthday, Adrienne (she’s in the striped dress)! Love you big! Adrienne and I have known each other since we were little. We went to school together from 1st grade until I left Mizzou my sophomore year of college. Adrienne is one year old than me and I have always called her Mother Huffer (her last name is Huff). She taught me how to write a check in high school, and I’m sure a million other things I can’t remember. Thankful for lifelong friends! <3
When I got home, I caught Lu in the act of making herself a bed. She was eventually sprawled across the whole dang bed.
I don’t know how a 13 pound pup can take up a whole bed, but she sure finds a way…
A little morning watering and coffee. We are starting to see some grass pop up, which is super exciting! We have been nervous since they were a month late getting seed down and it’s been so crazy hot. Praying that we got everything down in time and with constant watering, our grass will grow.
Happy Tuesday, friends!
