Nothing glamorous + you can’t beat Iowa sweet corn + Rhea in the mornings

After the gym yesterday, I had a meeting, then lunch. Still going strong with cheese roll-ups and jello over here. I don’t remember the last time I wore make-up…nothing very glamorous is happening right now.

I actually managed to be a little bit productive yesterday. I submitted a manuscript to a journal for review (YAY! Very behind in this kind of work right now.), finished a training so I can begin advising students, washed our sheets, and answered a bunch of emails. It felt good to knock some things out! I’ve been craving lasagna for the past few weeks, so that’s what we had for dinner. It was delicious! We also lucked out and got to enjoy some sweet corn from Iowa that my aunt and uncle brought for us when they came to visit. You cannot beat Iowa sweet corn.

This is how I wake up to Rhea every morning. Today, she had gone on a run with Jake, then hopped back into bed and got her face as close to mine as possible. She is almost always sharing my pillow with me. It cracks me up. I woke up this morning to her staring at me.

Breakfast – another breakfast sandwich and a protein waffle.

This combo is SO good – ice coffee, water, dark chocolate almond milk, and whipped cream.

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Do you have a favorite brand of bottled iced coffee or do you make your own at home? I need to up my iced coffee game but I have just been buying a growler of iced coffee from the Caribou Coffee which is close to my house but it gets pretty costly as I need to refill the growler 3 times a week. I don’t mess around will small cups of coffee. I am more of a large tumbler girl! 😉

Hello! I am so excited for you and your growing family! God is so good. I wanted to see if you or Jake could give some advice to me. I am crewing for my brother in law next weekend for his ultra marathon. Do you have any tips or advice that you or Jake have to share about this? We are really excited to go cheer him on!
I love iced coffee too! I make extra coffee in the morning, put the leftovers into a mason jar in the fridge. I add one packet of stevia, some sugar free coffee syrup (salted caramel is the best!), and heavy cream. I put the jar lid back on and shake. I pour over ice and honestly I think it’s better than Starbucks! I also have tried it with different coffee syrup flavors, like cinnamon dolce and vanilla. I usually use a french press for stronger coffee, but mine broke. Just thought I would share my coffee tips for your readers, and Lindsay who commented above. I love new coffee tips!

Aw, thank you, Becky!!! Yes He is!

Jake two biggest pieces: have fun & stay positive! For real. He says don’t take it too seriously & try to be up beat every time you see him.

I would agree with those tips, and add that you can’t take anything that he say personally. He’ll be hurting & could lash out. It’s part of it! Aaaand don’t let him quit the first time he says he wants to. It’ll happen.

What race is it? Sending you guys all the good vibes!!

That coffee sounds AMAZING! Thank you for sharing!
