I don’t really know where my day got to yesterday, but the first picture I have to share with you is of bacon. The best way to cook bacon, in my opinion, is in the oven. 400 degrees for 18 minutes and you’ve got the most perfect bacon ever.
We had BLTs for dinner last night. Isn’t this the most beautiful BLT you ever did see?
This dinner was AMAZING. And look at that…VEGETABLES! I did it. ; ) Also, if you aren’t putting pepper on your ketchup, you’re missing out.
UPS dropped off a delivery around dinner time and I had no clue what it was. I opened it and saw this Wickles box and was SO excited. I had forgotten after sharing how much I loved everything they made a few weeks ago, they reached out and asked if they could send me a goodie box. This delivery made my night!
Inside was all of my favorites – a couple different flavors of their pickles, their pickled okra, and their spicy red sandwich spread. Plus a beach towel and coozies! WOW. Thank you, Wickles! Not only for making amazing pickled things, but for being so sweet in sending this to me. THANK YOU! If you’re local, you can get Wickles at Mama Jean’s. Run, don’t walk. I promise you’ll love them. My favorites are the okra, the spicy pickles chips, and the spicy red sandwich spread.
You can also order them below online. Here are the pickles.
I finally started this book, The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. Thank you, Lori, for letting me borrow your copy! I stayed up way too late last night reading…
This made me laugh way too hard.
I had a full circle moment this morning. I had my first appointment at my OB’s office. I’ve been going to the Woman’s Clinic here in town for the past 7 weeks and they send all my scans to our clinic in STL. Well, now that we’ve graduated from the clinic, I will go to my OB from here on out. My ultrasound this morning was in the same building I was in years ago while we were tracking my severe belly pain, which ended up being endometriosis/cysts. Long story short, it was surreal to be back in that building, pregnant, when last time, we weren’t sure if I’d be able to get to this point. Baby boy is 12 weeks today, measuring a little bit ahead at 12+4, but he’s perfect and growing just like he should. The second I see him wiggle and see his heart flutter, I immediately thank God for this healthy baby and pregnancy. I still doesn’t feel real.
How amazing is this? That’s our baby from 24 hours (all the way to 140 hours, when he was frozen), then the day they thawed him and transferred him into my body, and now today, 12 weeks. Life is such a miracle.
Happy Friday, friends!
