This weekend was a busy one, on top of a busy week. I am ready for HOPEFULLY a less busy week this week. Fingers crossed. I did not want to do our daily 5k on Friday, but it was our last one for the week, so I wasn’t going to skip it. The girls and I knocked it out with a few minutes to spare before my first meeting on Friday.
On Friday, I had four back-to-back meetings. I had a meeting from 10-11, I led a meeting from 11-12, then another meeting from 12-1, and another from 1-3. It was a crazy day. I am feeling behind in work after two all-day conferences, and a day full of meetings, so I hope I can get caught up on things this week. When I finished with meetings Friday, I went to my parents’ house to help them put away everything from the garage sale they had this weekend. By the time I got home, I was SO worn out.
Jake and I picked up dinner from Coyote’s and spent the rest of the evening on the couch watching Outer Banks.
I only have two pictures from Saturday, so that should tell you how busy the day was. It was the last day of the garage sale, so I got up early and headed to my parents’ to help out. We got rid of a lot of stuff, so that was really nice. I think between my crazy week and working the sale/packing up everything after, I overdid it and my body was just so tired. I came home and crawled into bed after the sale on Saturday, but just felt super emotional. When Jake got home, I started cooking dinner and just started crying and I couldn’t stop. I had a major meltdown from being so worn out. I’m so used to being go-go-go, and now that I’m feeling almost normal again (no morning sickness), it’s hard to remind myself that I need down time. Jake calmed me down and we had dinner, but I knew that my meltdown was a reminder to take things easy. I’m going to try to do a better job of relaxing more often. I don’t tell you this for sympathy, but rather as as a reminder to listen to your body and rest when you need it! For dinner, we had my favorite brussels (with honey and balsamic vinegar) and baked potatoes with chicken, cheese, BBQ, and plain Greek yogurt. SO good.
I slept about 12 hours on Sunday and it was wonderful. I woke up and just took it easy all morning. I had some quiche, sipped on coffee, and did a little laundry. It was so nice to have a slow morning.
It is SO nice to see this view! This room has been taped off since May. We haven’t been able to see our sunroom in months! Our dining room is ready to prime, so we are going to do that this week. I am SO excited. Once we have this room and a spot in our living room finished, the construction zone of our house will not be in the middle of everything anymore. Our next big project will be our bathrooms and we can shut the doors to them and ignore the mess. It will be so nice. We are making progress!
Lunch on Sunday was leftover baked potato goodness.
I knocked out some meal prep, too. Lunches are turkey burgers with cheesy broccoli.
This broccoli is delicious. I will also make a zucchini blueberry oatmeal bake tomorrow when we finish off our quiche. I’ll share the recipe when I make it!
Our menu for the week!
We went to Jake’s parents’ for dinner and to watch the Chiefs game last night. It was so fun to see everyone. I wore my new favorite Walmart hat. It’s SO comfy. Plus, you can never have too much cheetah. 😉
I bought some fun new fall scents for my diffusers. This has apple, vanilla, snickerdoodle, forest pine, harvest spice, and something else with honey in the name. The harvest spice is AMAZING.
You can find all these here.
Teakwood is my go-to for every day diffusing. I love the scent so much.
The best scent of all time.
I went to the gym this morning, then came home and threw some chili fixings in the crockpot. I love crockpot meals. The girls and I are about to head out for our daily 5k, then it’s work time. I only have ONE meeting today! Amazing.
Happy Monday, friends!
