End of conference + 3am wake-up call + first baby shower!

My Wednesday morning breakfast looked like this – bacon quiche, yogurt, OJ, and coffee. The first conference session started at 8am, so I scarfed this down and headed to the first session.

I was in sessions on Wednesday from 8-12, and again from 2-4. I presented at a 2pm session, which was really fun. It went great and I got to talk to some really interesting people. My presentation was only about 15 minutes, so nothing too crazy. My regular clothes don’t really fit anymore, so I rocked my favorite black linen maternity pants from Old Navy and this floral kimono that my sister gave me.

After the last session for the day, there was a little social up on the rooftop patio. The views were gorgeous. I was pretty worn out, so I didn’t stay long.

I ordered dinner to the hotel and chowed down on some delicious pizza. This was great because I had leftovers for dinner Thursday night.

I also enjoyed this dessert. It was some type of turtle cake. It was delicious.

Jake has spent the week busting out work around our house. He got all the windows in our master and the nursery primed Wednesday night. Here’s a picture of just the primer. They already look so much better! I can’t wait to see everything in person. He had to use an oil-based primer, which I can’t be around right now, so the timing of my conference worked great for him to be able to get some work knocked out.

Baby boy grew while I was gone. I sent this picture to Jake and told him he was a lucky man. Haha! Such glamour. Thank God for sweats. For real.

Since Jake painted in our room, he and the girls camped on the floor in another room so they wouldn’t breathe in all the fumes. He sent me this sweet picture of Lu cuddling with him. I can’t wait to squeeze them!

This book was recommended to me by multiple people. I have really been enjoying it! It’s broken up into first, second, and third trimesters, so you can read about what might be most important to you at each milestone. If you’re into data and learning the why behind things, check this out. It’s not read like a journal article – the author does an amazing job breaking down research and explaining it in a way that is easy to understand.

I know thank you will never be enough, but thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to anyone who has served or is serving our nation. I know freedom isn’t free. Thank you, thank you!

Conference day 2! Another pair of linen maternity pants. They’re my favorite.

Another quiche and coffee before the first conference session.

We are 26 weeks today! Just two weeks shy of the third trimester. I cannot believe it. Baby boy seems to grow a little bit every day. I have a baby shower on Saturday and am so excited. I can’t wait to squeeze people I haven’t seen in forever. I didn’t know if I’d ever get to have a baby shower, so it definitely feels a little surreal.

My flight leaves at 6am this morning, so I was up at 3am. I think I’ll be sleepy all day, but I’m so, so ready to be home! Currently sitting at the airport ready to fly out!

Happy Friday, friends!
