Growing + sticking to a plan + two more days!

Monday was spent mostly at my computer. I took a lunch break and had a chicken sandwich and a salad on the side. Salad sounds good right now, so I’m going with it!

Our master is getting closer to being finished! We have a fan/light to hang along with some pictures and mirrors. Eventually, we will move these dressers and bedside tables into our guest room, but for now, they work perfectly in here. I want to get matching bedside tables (ours currently don’t match) and hang mirrors above them, so hopefully we find some we like soon. We have new lamps and a rug on the way, so I will share all those fun things as we get them set up!

Monday afternoon, I enjoyed the last of the pumpkin roll from my baby shower as a little snack. SO. Amazing.

The girls and I got out for a short walk, too. I haven’t been doing the best job with our walks the past few weeks…I’ve just been so focused on getting things accomplished for work and around our house and haven’t made the time to walk. I NEED to do a better job of taking the girls for a short walk most days. They love it as much as I do. I’m not trying to do my 5k anymore – I have a lot of belly/back pressure when I walk that far, so I’m just listening to my body and doing what feels good.

This combo is delicious – my favorite hummus (coconut curry) and spicy sriracha lentil chips.

Dinner Monday night was an easy to make favorite – bacon wrapped chicken dipped in brown sugar and chili powder. So good and so, so easy to make. I also had some sweet and beets on the side.

After dinner Monday, we put the crib together. I got this crib for $25 off of Facebook Marketplace. My Grandma, the ultimate bargain shopper, would be so proud. It’s not very old and it looks brand new. I love how everything is starting to come together.

I had two splurges for baby boy – his mattress and the Owlet. Yes, I know all about the latest Owlet stuff – I still wanted one. I also really wanted a Newton mattress because they’re completely breathable. Jake’s Mom got this for us as a shower gift and I am so excited. Thank you, Penny!! We got the Original mattress. I made Jake shove his face in the mattress and breathe to see why I loved the idea of this mattress so much. He could breathe no problem and he was amazed at how soft it was. You can read more about the Newton mattresses HERE. I don’t have an affiliate code or anything for these, I just did research and decided this was the best option for us.

It is so wild to walk by this room and see a crib in there. I smile every time I look in his room.

My coffee mug says, “You Grow, Girl”. Trust me, mug, I am! I have gained almost 40 pounds so far, which is more than I thought I’d gain. My doctor isn’t the slightest bit concerned about it, so as long as baby boy is healthy and I’m feeling good, I’m not worrying about it. I know weight gain is such a taboo subject and it shouldn’t be. Everyone’s body is different. No two pregnancies are going to look the same. I know Moms who have gained more and some who have gained less – they’re all just fine and so are their babies! This is your daily reminder to be kind to yourself (and others). <3

Jake stopped by yesterday to fix a light on our street, so the girls and I went out to say hi. We never miss a chance to see our favorite lineman in action.

I don’t think I could go up in a bucket truck…I didn’t think I was scared of heights, but there have been a few times lately where I’ve been up high somewhere and it isn’t the best feeling. I definitely don’t love them, so maybe they’re just not my thing.

Lunch Tuesday was another chicken sandwich with Chick-fil-A sauce and provolone with a salad on the side.

If you’re pregnant or looking for an alcohol-removed wine, check out Fre Wines. They’re SO good. My favorites are the champagne, moscato, and white zinfandel. I did not care for the red one at all…even the smell of it bothered me, but I love the other ones. Locally, I found this at Brown Derby, but you can order from their site as well.

The weather last night was amazing. I sipped on my alcohol-free wine and enjoyed our twinkle lights.

We had friends over for dinner last night and Jake grilled brats for us. They were DELICIOUS. I didn’t prepare a single thing for dinner, which felt very strange, but it was so nice. Thank you, Jake, for taking care of everything!

I was so tired this morning when my alarm went off. I decided to sleep in and change my alarm for later. BUT, before I fell back to sleep, I decided to get up and stick to my plan. I knew it would feel good to knock out the gym early and then have the rest of my day to work. So, I turned my alarm off, got up, made coffee, and headed out the door.

Not counting today, I have TWO work days until a week off. I cannot wait!!!

Happy Wednesday, friends!
