Our 3D/4D scan + don’t want to take it down…+ staying home

One of the necklaces that I wore every day broke last week, so I ordered a new one that says Cooper on it. The necklace that broke was a longer necklace with a dandelion on it. It was my Mother’s Day gift to myself last year with the wish that Baby Bradley would be with us soon. Memories like that still make our current reality feel surreal. Baby B will be here in 6ish weeks!

Monday evening, we had our 3D/4D scan that I have been looking forward to since we found out we were pregnant. Imaging Miracles, which is my favorite place to get elective scans, has a huge room and allows you to bring however many people you would like to your ultrasound. Our family went with us, so there was a total of 10 people in the room. It was so much fun. After the scan, we all came back to our house for dinner.

We are so thankful we have everyone in this group close by. I know Cooper is excited to meet everyone.

Baby boy kept his hands and feet up by his face most of the time, but I still think we got some of the cutest pictures. He is currently Frank Breech, which means he is folded in half with his butt down and his feet up by his head. We still have some time for him to flip, so I am praying that he does. You can see one of his eyes in this picture. He had them open for quite a bit of the scan.

I think this is my favorite picture from the whole ultrasound. His little smile melts my heart. Everyone was laughing and saying it looks like he is talking on the cell phone.

He is already quite the chunk and I cannot wait to smooch those big cheeks. His little lips and nose are so precious.

Since he kept his hands and feet up by his face, we were poking on him a lot to see if he would move them. We made him pretty angry at one point, which is when we got this picture. We don’t know if he is yelling or crying, but he let us know he was not happy.

He has a ton of hair, which makes me so happy. Little one, we cannot wait to meet you.

My sister couldn’t make it to the scan, so I sent her the pictures. She said she changed my name in her phone to Cooper’s Mom and that is all I will be known as from now on. I told her I was okay with that!

Tuesday morning, I woke up to this cute face and crazy bed head. This is how she told me I had slept in too late and she needed her breakfast.

I have taken all of our Christmas decorations down except for our tree. We have a real tree and it still looks so beautiful and I’m just not ready to take it down. I turn it on first thing every morning and just to stare at it.

I am craving all of the cold blended drinks right now. My lunch consisted of a maple waffle sandwich and blended decaf coffee from Scooter’s. This hit the spot. I had such a busy day on Monday and it really wore me out, so I did absolutely nothing yesterday and just rested from the day before. It felt good to be lazy, but I am definitely ready to be a little bit more productive today. I told Jake I think this is the first time in years that I have not worked during my break. I am off this whole week and next week, but I think I am going to knock out a few things next week. I am still going to take the rest of this week completely off and enjoy not doing much.

After my delicious Scooter’s lunch, I took a nap, then had this plate of deliciousness as a snack. An apple, cheese, and chips. It was so tasty.

When Jake got home from work, we ran to Lowes to pick up our bathtub, and then came home and had dinner. We had leftovers from Monday night, which made me so happy. Wagyu brats are out of this world (Thank you, Mitch!). Also, sometimes you just need to drink OJ out of a wineglass.

I am reading my second book by Emily Oster and I enjoy her has an author so much. I shared her first book, called Expecting Better, which is all about pregnancy and what the research says about certain things within each trimester. If you are expecting or know someone who is expecting, read that book. This is her second book, called Cribsheet, which focuses on labor and delivery, what happens right after, and the baby’s first year. I’m about halfway through it right now and have already learned so much.

Here is Expecting Better. I cannot recommend it enough. I love that it is broken down by trimester. When I was in the first trimester, I focused on that section, then as I hit the following trimesters, I would read those sections. 10/10 for me.

I also really love Cribsheet. I haven’t read the whole thing yet, but I especially loved the section on what to expect immediately after delivery. No one really talks about that and so much happens, so I was thankful for this book and the research she shares.

I had planned to continue going to the gym for the next few weeks, but with all the germs going around and not being able to control other people and what they do, I think I’m going to just stay home unless absolutely necessary to get out. Not that the gym is dirty in the slightest, I just want to stay away from groups of people as a whole. I am sad about missing the gym, but staying healthy is the most important thing right now. I’m so thankful for our health, and I think avoiding groups and not being around a lot of people is the best decision right now. If you or anyone you care about is dealing with sickness right now, I am sending you and them healing vibes. All we can do is be smart and do our best to protect ourselves. It is scary thinking about bringing a newborn into this germy world, so I know Jake and I will have rules for when people come to see the baby when we’re ready for visitors. Our main job is to protect him and keep him safe, so that is what we are going to do. Stay healthy out there!

Happy Wednesday, friends!
