Weekend Wrap-up: date nights + birthday fun + long runs

Our mornings are my favorite! We had a great weekend full of date nights, family time, and runs.

Someone got a sensory water mat and LOVES it.

I kept putting my run off on Friday, so I finally hopped on the treadmill to try and get in a few miles. Little man let me get in most of my recovery run.

Friday night, we headed over to one of our neighbor’s houses for a backyard picnic. We have loved getting to know all of the amazing people who live on our street. Coop rocked some jorts for the evening.

Saturday morning started with some playtime before I headed out for my run. Cooper loves this little seat so much.

Y’all, I finally ran with a girlfriend! The last time Kayla and I ran together was May 2021. CRAZY. It was so nice to have a friend to run with again. We accidentally wore matching tanks…

This run was also my longest in over a year. It was an endurance run, so my pace needed to be between 10:30 and 13:14. We ended with 11:11 for the day. I’ll take it! I felt amazing when we finished. I’m so so thankful I hired a coach and have been sticking to her plan of slowly building back up. I can tell I’m slowly getting back into shape. Emphasis on slowly!

After my run, we all cleaned up and got ready to go to brunch to celebrate my mom‘s birthday.

We went to Vineyard Market and I had the chicken and waffles. It was crazy delicious.

Coop sure loves his Tutu and Papa.

After brunch, we all laid down for a nap and the next thing I know, Cooper and I are waking up two hours later… Whoops! I think that run really took it out of me. We were all very rested after our nap, so we picked up a pizza and salad and headed to Mother’s for a little date night.

Our favorite little guy tagged along with us. Our parents keep offering to babysit so we can have a date night, but neither of us wants to leave him yet for that long. He is just so much fun and we love spending time with him. I’m sure we will let someone babysit for a long period of time eventually… Maybe when he is five…ha!

Sunday morning started with a grocery delivery and then a little meal prep. Signing up for Instacart to get groceries delivered is the best thing I did as a new mom. Life. Saver. We are having salads for lunch this week. These have spinach, Romaine, English cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, chicken, and bacon.

We met my family for lunch for my mom’s birthday, then all headed back to their house to swim in the pool. BUT, before we swam, I needed to knock out a run. Jake ran with me, which I loved. It was our first run just the two of us in four months. My sister and mom hung with Coop for an hour while we ran.

I gave birth to my husband’s twin.

Mudslides with the pretty birthday girl! We love you, mama! It was so fun celebrating her all day.

Cooper’s face. HA! I have a feeling we will get this look a lot from him as a toddler and a teenager…

Monday morning snuggles with my favorite baby boy.

Happy Monday, friends!
