Lu update + girls’ night + naps & snuggles

We went back to the vet on Wednesday to check on Lu’s progress. The leg that they repaired (the one she broke the repair on) has healed very well despite her breaking the repair. We are thankful for that because we thought she might need a second surgery on that leg. Unfortunately, the leg she hurt initially is not healing. It doesn’t seem to be causing her any pain, so we are trying to decide if we want to go forward with a surgery on that side now. I can tell she is so ready to be out of confinement and back to playing with us. If she has surgery, it’s another two months of confinement… Jake and I are going to talk about it this weekend and decide what to do.

My lunch views: a salad I inhaled, some chips, and the cutest guy in the world.

This little guy joined me for a girls’ night on Thursday.

When we’re meeting some of my running girlfriends, so of course he had to wear his Run Squad onesie.

Cooper got some Aunt Kayla cuddles.

A few of our girlfriends had to bail at the last minute, but the three of us had a blast chatting and catching up. I can’t wait until we are all back running together. One of the girls in our running group just had a baby and two others are about to have babies. I see stroller runs in our future!

Coop always plays with my face while he nurses and it is precious.

We snuggled for all of Cooper’s naps yesterday and I loved it. His first nap was taken like this.

When he woke up, we played for a little bit and then I wore him while I vacuumed and did some computer work.

He fell asleep while I was vacuuming. I am thankful this kid can sleep through anything.

While he napped in the baby carrier, I knocked out a ton of computer work. I was able to finish getting my second fall class ready. when he woke up, it was playtime. He loves to sit on the top of my feet like this. He smiles and talks like crazy. It’s so cute.

He’s such a goofball.

His third nap of the day was taken in bed and I joined him. We both slept for a little over an hour and it was wonderful. I always put his Owlet on him if he lays in bed with me. It gives me so much peace of mind.

I always try to share the good and the bad on here. My run yesterday was not good. I headed out for my workout run when Jake got home from work. I felt kind of blah all day yesterday, so a run was the last thing I wanted to do, but I figured I’d might as well try. It was so hard. I was able to stay within my pace range, but I was at the slowest end. I ended up being slower than when I push the stroller. I did not have the stroller (or Cooper) with me. I didn’t quit even though I wanted to every single step of the workout portion, so I’m focusing on that positive. I am putting that in my mental toughness bank and letting it go! I have a rest day today and a long run Saturday. Saturday WILL be better!

Happy Friday, friends!
