Weekend Wrap-up: treadmill tips with a baby + 5 months + 30 miles for week!

This little dude rocked his sloth onesie for his aunt. Aunt Chelsea loves sloths, so Coop has a lot of sloth items.

I love leftovers. Pork chops, apple, and salad for lunch.

We got some good play time in Friday afternoon.

Another day, another hat. I found this pineapple hat on Amazon and HAD to get it.

We did dinner with Jake’s parents Friday night. We went to Brew Co and it was delicious. Coop loved all the cuddles.

My people.

Coop was five months old on Saturday! I cannot believe it. I do not know where the time has gone. He is the coolest thing ever. He loves snuggles, nursing, walks or runs, being outside, and our dogs. He doesn’t really hate much…except maybe laying down when he wants to be sitting up.

I had a 90 minute workout run on Saturday that I did not feel like doing. Jake tried to help me by hanging with Coop, but I had zero motivation to do anything. By the time I got around to doing it, it was too hot to do it outside and Jake was in Arkansas, so I hopped on the treadmill to knock it out. I was not sure how it would go with Coop. I brought a bunch of toys into our sunroom and put them next to the treadmill. I just hoped I would be able to get most of it done.

I hopped on the treadmill and started my run. Any time Cooper seemed to get bored with one toy, I would move him to the next. Other than that, one nursing session, one diaper change, and one snuggle break, he let me knock out my entire 90 minute run.

I ended with a little over 8 miles for the day, which felt really good considering I did not want to do this run at all.

We got creative with how to keep Cooper entertained and close to me. I am just thankful it worked! I am also thankful that he is such a chill baby. We really hit the jackpot with this one.

My parents’ anniversary was Saturday, so they stopped by to see us after dinner. They looked so cute!

I had another 90 minute run Sunday morning, but it was an endurance run and not a workout. Kayla joined us for a little bit of it and it was so nice to have her company.

Someone got hungry when he woke up from his stroller nap, so we had a little nursing session toward the end of my run.

Empty water bottles make really great toys. Cooper loved this one from Skratch Labs.

Jake got home from Arkansas right as I was finishing my run. He met me at the trail where I had started my run and pushed Cooper in the stroller while I finished up.

This was pretty exciting to see after my weekend runs… I hit 30 miles for the week, which hasn’t happened in at least a year and a half. I am definitely feeling these miles today – I am so dang sore, but I love seeing this progress. Postpartum running is no joke!

I am obsessed with using rotisserie chicken for meal prep. It makes everything so fast! Lunches this week are salads with spinach, chickpea pasta, chicken, cherry tomatoes, and carrots. This was so quick to throw together. I love adding pasta to salads. It’s a great way to make them more filling and get some carbs in there.

I am still on the cereal for breakfast kick, but I prepped some oatmeal for Jake this week. I just cooked up a huge batch of oatmeal and portioned it out then topped it with peanut butter and honey. Jake likes his oatmeal a little bit runier, so he just adds water to this in the mornings and heats it up.

Cooper got to meet our friend Katey last night and he told me he loves her as much as we do. Thanks for snuggling our little dude, girlfriend!
