We had such an amazing getaway. I didn’t end up getting to run, which was a HUGE bummer, but we loved spending time in CO and watching Coop take it all in. Rewinding to Friday night, I was still hopeful I’d wake up Saturday morning pain-free. We had packet pick-up and a Trail Sisters get together on a rooftop bar. It was a blast and the views were incredible.
Then we grabbed a late dinner with friends before calling it a night.
I woke up Saturday not being able to walk very well, so I knew I’d be pulling a DNS (did not start) for my race. I was heartbroken, but there was no way I’d be able to run. We got up, got dressed, and headed to the start to cheer on everyone else. It had been a long time since I’d been at a race. I had forgotten how much I love them, even when I’m not participating.
Coop loved it and he got lots of smiles from the runners.
Jake’s sister made him the cutest Trail Sisters onesie, but he pooped all over it before we got a chance to show it off. Ha! Here’s a picture to document it before his diaper change.
Post outfit change car nap.
We swung back by the house to get some warmer clothes for little man, then headed to the finish line to watch the runners cross.
We sprawled out on a blanket and cheered as everyone finished the race.
Go Alex and Hannah!
I have a feeling these two are going to give me a heart attack one day.
Coop was worn out after all our morning fun.
Jake and I shared a salmon BLT and zucchini for lunch from Eddyline Brewing. It was amazing.
After lunch, we went to awards, then went home to take naps. After our naps, we met up with everyone from the race for a post-race social. It was so much fun!
You can’t beat an Old Fashioned.
We packed up the car and hit the road for home Sunday morning. We weren’t quite ready to leave Colorado, so we spent a few hours that morning in Frisco, which is my favorite place.
I think Coop loved it, too!
Little man sure loves his daddy.
The most delicious bagel and lox.
Sometimes you just need to hold your mommy’s hand while you nap.
He’s still unsure about bottles, but drank three ounces out of one yesterday, so that’s progress!
We stayed in Colby last night and are on the road again today. Cooper has been the best traveler. I don’t know how we got so lucky with him.
I am still having trouble walking, so I have an appointment with a sports therapist this week and a physical therapist in AR next week. I have no clue what is causing all my pain and difficulty walking, but we’re determined to figure it out. My birthday is Saturday and I really wanted to do a morning birthday run, but we’ll see how the week goes…
Happy Monday, friends!
