We love sharing + mom life & making it happen + Coop’s first gingerbread house!

We are having so much fun this week since I’m off work. I haven’t checked email all week! That sure feels nice. Coop is obsessed with his Busy Town and plays on it every day.

Wednesday night, we went to a candlelight service with Jake’s dad, his stepmom, and his grandma. Coop got a little tambourine to play during the service and he was ecstatic. He shook it the entire service.

Sometimes trying to balance mom life and training can be a little tricky. My sister came over to watch Coop so I could get my 90 minute workout in. It started snowing while she was here and since she has super pregnant, I didn’t want her driving in the slick snow. I hopped off the treadmill after 20 minutes and sent her home. I texted my coach to see if she wanted me to still attempt the 90 minute workout or switch days and do a 60 minute run instead since it would have to be done in portions because I had Cooper with me. My coach wanted me to switch and do a 60 minute run, so I hopped back on the treadmill and got another 22 minutes in before Cooper decided he did not want me to run anymore. I figured I’d just find some time to finish up the hour at some point.

Nothing better in the whole world. Coop took a 90 minute nap, which is super long for him. He typically only naps for 20-30 minutes. I was nap trapped for a long time.

The hardest part of parenting for me is feeding Coop solids. Ugh. I’m so worried about him choking. We have definitely eased into it, but I’m so thankful this kid loves to eat. If any mamas out there have tips for feeding a 10 month old solids, please send them my way!

Coop loves sharing. He tries to share all his food and toys with anyone close by. It’s precious.

My girlfriend, Cassie, is in town from Washington for Christmas. I had not seen her in months, so I couldn’t wait to spend some time with her. She and her sister were out running errands when she saw my Instagram story about not finishing my run. They came over to hang with Coop so I could get the rest of my run in. True friends!! I was so thankful! I knocked out the last 18 minutes of my hour run.

Aunt Cassie won all the fun points last night. She helped Cooper make his very first gingerbread house. He loved it! He also got to try frosting for the first time. He wasn’t quite sure about it.

Our masterpiece!

Coop was very proud of all our hard work.

The night was complete after Jake grilled us this deliciousness in the negative temps. Yummmm. Steak, salad, stuffed mushrooms, and bacon wrapped green beans.

Jake is out on a run now and it’s my turn when he gets back. He’s off work today and Monday for Christmas and I’m so excited for four days together as a family.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and get to spend it doing what makes your heart happy. <3

Happy (early) birthday, Jesus!

Happy Friday, friends!
