Weekend Wrap-up: solid training + we will never sleep again + one more week

Coop had his very first kids’ meal Friday for lunch. I, of course, had to document it.

Friday night, we grabbed dinner with my family then celebrated Eleanor’s fourth birthday at my sister and brother-in-law’s house.

Tutu got all the Ford snuggles.

Saturday morning started with breakfast, some play time, and then big training days for me and Jake.

We headed to Chadwick for me to run and for Jake to ride. I nursed Coop before starting my run.

I had an hour and 45 minute tempo workout. I wanted to be on trail, but it’s been pretty rainy around here, so we stayed away from the trails and hit up some gravel instead.

Jake and Coop drove around slowly while I ran a 10-mile gravel loop. I had a pretty chilly water crossing about 10 minutes into my run. Brrr.

I absolutely loved seeing Jake and Coop during my run. It helped the miles go by quickly.

I had three 10-minute pushes and they hurt, especially the first one. It was all uphill and I felt like I was going to throw up, but overall, I felt pretty strong this whole run.

Coop ‘helped’ Jake drive. It was adorable. I love his little hand on the door.

I got rained on for most of my run, but when you have these views, you don’t really notice the rain.

I ended with a little over 10 miles for the day. I was pretty happy with this workout.

Jake snapped this and sent it to me. Coop LOVED getting to ride around with his dad for a few hours.

When I finished my run, it was Jake’s turn. He hopped on his bike and headed for home. He had a three hour ride, so he rode around Chadwick a little bit and then rode home. Coop and I grabbed Jimmy John’s, which I ate in the car in our driveway because someone passed out the second we pulled in. Ha!

When Coop woke up, he got a diaper change and then ate his own sandwich. Eating carbs with no pants…this kid sure knows how to live it up!

I want to be Coop when I grow up.

We thought the rain would stop by the time Jake started his ride. We were wrong. It rained on him the entire time! Poor guy. It was also cold, 38-39° and suuuper windy. Jake rode his whole three hours in that awful weather. I would not have been able to do it!

Coop wanted to ride his bike just like his Daddy, but he chose to do so inside! Smart kid. ; )

Plaid pals. We met my parents for an early dinner Friday before crawling into bed!

Sunday morning started with a 60-minute run, followed by coffee with friends.

I loved getting to run with these gals and catch up over coffee. They ran part of my run with me and then we relaxed at Black Lab.

I came home to this. The cutest boys.

Jake’s dad gave us this seasoning and I put it on everything. It’s so good. If you see it, get it. It’s the perfect blend of spicy and sweet.

Y’all, this sleep deprivation makes me extra on the verge of tears. Jake and I both forgot to shake out his riding gear from Saturday. I threw it in the wash and the dirt and grit got on EVERYTHING. Including my laundry room floor when I pulled it all out to put it in the dryer. It. Was. Everywhere. I took a deep breath, shook everything out, ran an empty load through the washer to get the grit out of the bottom, then washed everything again. It ended up being just fine, but in the moment, being so tired, any little thing seemed terrible. This is what was all over the floor, our clothes, and me.

Coop loves looking out our front door. He’s pretty dang fast using that walker!

I managed to get a little meal prep and cleaning knocked out Sunday while Jake ran. I made yogurt bowls for a snack, and spicy chicken teriyaki bowls for lunches.

Someone was fighting naps all day, so we snuggled and then I wore him while I worked around the house. He finally passed out.

I was able to transfer him to his favorite little vibrating chair and finish up some things for the day.

We grabbed wings and beer with Jake’s parents last night. It hit the spot!

Coop is still having a hard time at night, so we’re all exhausted. Hoping he gets back on track soon. I miss sleep.

One more week till I’m on spring break!! I can’t wait. I’m not doing anything crazy, but I’m ready for no meetings and some downtime. Maybe we’ll nap a lot. A LOT.

Happy Monday, friends!
