My bummer news + so proud of Jake + first IVF appointment

These precious little curls.

I am all about Italian sub sandwiches this week. They’re hitting the spot.

Coop loves pretending to drive every time we get into the car.

Breakfast Tuesday morning was waffles and eggs with bacon and cottage cheese. So delicious. I always end up sharing most of my waffles with Coop, even though he eats breakfast before I do…

After breakfast, we did a little coloring. Coop wants to hold every single crayon, so I try to hide some of them from him.

I have a some bummer news – I am not doing the 50k I’ve been training for for the last year or so. I haven’t been officially training that whole time, but my intent was to always do this race. Starting our IVF mock transfer has already made me feel kind of blah and overwhelmed, so I just don’t have the mental capacity or heart to run 30+ miles on Saturday. I still want to run, so I’ve dropped down to the 25k, half the distance, so I’m looking forward to that, but it was definitely a tough decision. I felt like a failure all last week. I know this is not the end of the world, not even close, but I’ve put in a lot of work and spent a lot of time away from my family preparing and I feel like I’ve wasted all of that. Now that I’ve had more time to process, I’m feeling better about the decision and I’m looking forward to the 25k, but I’ve definitely been a little sad about the whole thing.

Stroller naps are Coop’s favorite. He picked out this swim hat to wear yesterday. It cracked me up. He kept ripping it off at the pool, but he really wanted to wear it yesterday.

Jake has some pretty exciting news – he got his endurance running coaching certification! He just passed his test over the weekend. Coop and I are SO proud of him. He already has a few athletes and I can’t wait to see how he grows his coaching by helping others. I printed out his certificate and put it on his desk to surprise him.

This cool dude is ready for our beach trip in June.

I forgot to take a picture before we dug in, but my parents came over for tacos last night. I made guac topped with Tajín and spicy goat cheese. It was delicious.

Jammies and snacks after breakfast. Coop has a mouth full of banana. Always.

I have my first IVF appointments tomorrow. I have a saline ultrasound, which I’ve never had before, and some blood work. If everything checks out okay, I start medication Monday. We’re jumping right in!

Happy Wednesday, friends!
