Weekend Wrap-up: pool fun + at-home date night + family brunch

Jake and I had plans to be super productive this weekend, but hanging out as a family ended up being more important (always), so that’s what we did. We don’t get very many lazy weekend, so we took advantage of this one. It was the best! We have so many different projects going on right now – sometimes it’s nice to play hooky from them. Rewinding a little bit…Friday afternoon, Coop and I headed to the pool.

He loves drinking out of these little fountains.

My friend, Chelsea, and her sweet girls met us at the pool. We had the best time with them!

The two sweetest babies in the whole world.

When the diaper takes two people…ha! I felt awful changing a dirty diaper on a table by the pool, but we did not have an option. Things escalated quickly…

Coop took an epic car nap after the pool.

He slept so long that I got hungry…so I made a sandwich and cut up an apple to snack on while he snoozed.

Sometimes this is what it looks like to be a working mom…just answering emails and admitting students into our master’s program while little man played in the tub.

When I finished a few work things, I put my computer away and we headed outside to play.

There’s nothing better than these snuggles.

Sometimes we make complicated dinners, and sometimes I raid random things in our pantry and freezer…HA! Dinner Friday night was mac and cheese, hot dogs, and peas. It was delicious! The meds I’m on right now for this mock transfer really mess with my belly, so a lot of food doesn’t sound good. I just go with what sounds good and try not to worry about anything else. One day I’ll like my normal foods again.

Jake played in a work golf tournament Saturday morning, so this dude and I hung out. Cooper is the absolute sweetest boy. He is always quick to give a hug and a smooch. It melts my heart.

He likes to pile a bunch of toys into his chair and then squeeze in next to them.

He is still loving our mantle. Probably not the safest spot to play, but he likes to take books up here and read.

These precious curls. I love them.

We got some good Jeep time in Saturday morning.

Jake got home from golfing, took Coop to get him to nap, and told me to go take a nap. I didn’t even think twice – I crawled into bed and passed out. I. Love. Naps. And how sweet are these boys?

We had an at-home date night Friday night. Jake grilled all kinds of deliciousness for us. Bacon wrapped filets, potatoes, and stuffed jalapeños. I made a salad and baked some garlic bread. This was so good!

Once we got Coop down for the night, we sat on our front porch and enjoyed the sunset.

Sunday morning started with a run for everyone. I had an easy 30 minute run and Jake had two hours.

After my run, Coop took a little nap, and then we got ready to go to brunch with our families. I got Coop this silky outfit awhile ago and finally put it on him Sunday. I couldn’t stop laughing. He looked so cute. He wouldn’t stop rubbing his hands on the silky shirt. It was so cute.

We had brunch with our parents at Highland. It was fun to spend some time all together.

After brunch, we attempted to go to the pool, but it started pouring right when we pulled in, so we headed back home and watched a movie. It was the perfect lazy day.

I have my next ultrasound and blood work appointment tomorrow. This mock transfer is going by quickly! I’m sure it’s because I’m so busy with Coop. As long as everything comes back okay, I’ll start suppositories (which I hate) and the PIO (progesterone in oil) injections after this appointment. As of now, we are planning my ERA being on June 22nd. The ERA is when they take a sample of the lining of my uterus. It’s a very painful, but quick procedure. Once that is done, we wait for results and then get ready for our real transfer!

Happy Monday, friends!
