Sour Patch phase + Jake’s birthday fun + family dinner

Y’all, this kid…I walked in to some of my decorations in the toilet…

Then he went to snuggle Rhea. I always laugh when I see parents call their kiddos a Sour Patch kid (first they’re sour, then they’re sweet), but it definitely rang true for Cooper Monday afternoon!

Just a little carb loading with a cracker before swim Monday night.

After swim, we had Jake’s birthday dinner! He had two of his friends come over, which was so fun. Jake grilled and I threw together some sides. Everything was delicious.

Bacon wrapped filets, stuffed jalapeños, salad, quinoa salad, and grilled onion. Mmmm.

I put Coop to bed after dinner, and the guys sat in our sunroom and hung out for a little bit.

Little man and I got some good snuggles in after breakfast Tuesday morning. There is nothing better than this in the whole world.

I had a busy work day yesterday, so inhaled lunch while I was working. I got so full off the burger and potato bites that I didn’t get to eat the quinoa salad. I am looooving these lunches.

We did my first PIO (progesterone in oil) injection yesterday. I attempted to mark the spot where it needs to go. This is harder than it looks!

This is an intramuscular injection, so it uses a big needle. Since we are doing our mock transfer right now, I will just do these injections until my procedure on Monday. After an actual transfer, you do them until your blood test. If that is positive, then you continue them for 8 weeks.

I always put numbing cream on and sit on a heating pad. For the most part, I can’t feel these. There will be the occasional one that hurts a little bit, but they’re really not too bad. The liquid itself is in oil, so it’s pretty thick. I try to warm it up in my hand before we inject so it goes in a little bit smoother.

Jake came home during his lunch break to do my first one. I’m going to attempt to do these myself…but we’ll see how that goes. I did all the belly injections on my own, but there’s something about this big needle that makes me nervous. I’m going to try!

When I finished up with work for the day, we headed over to Chelsea’s to hang with Lily for a little bit. These two are the cutest. Lily always has her hair in an adorable pony on top of her head, but she had just ripped it out. She has the best hair! It cracks me up in this picture.

We had dinner at my parents’ last night. My grandparents from Florida are in town this week, so we’ll be spending lots of time over there. We love getting to be with them! Coop played with a PAW Patrol tower my sister brought over for him and I sipped on a glass of wine.

We had Pitch pizza and brussels for dinner. It was so good.

A little after dinner golf. Coop is getting really good at holding his club with two hands and hitting the ball. It’s adorable watching him play.

I most likely won’t have a blog post Friday. I have meetings on-campus (in Arkansas) from 9-4, so I’ll have to leave about 5am and won’t get back home until 9pm. This will also be my longest time away from Coop. I am already sad about it, but he’ll be with Jake’s mama all day, so he’s in the best hands! He’s going to have so much fun; I’m just going to miss him so so much. Very thankful for a job where I don’t have to leave my baby very often. <3

Happy Wednesday, friends!
