Weekend Wrap-up: race fun + family date night + birthday weeeeek!

Coop sure was sad when Jake left for work this morning. I don’t blame him; we had the most fun weekend! Coop tried to pile all his toys on Rhea Friday afternoon. I don’t know how we lucked out with this gentle, loving girl, but we sure hit the jackpot with her!

Coop and I headed out for an easy 30 minute run Friday afternoon when I finished up work for the day.

Friday night, we had the most fun play date and pizza night. I wish we could do this every night! Probably because I wish I could spend every single day with these mamas and their sweet kiddos.

Sweet summertime is coming to an end, but we’re soaking up the last few days and definitely enjoying some cooler weather.

This was Coop’s first time on a trampoline and he LOOOOVED it.

Harris was not into our picture taking. Poor kid.

Saturday morning, it was up early for my race! Coop was not into the 5:30am wake up and pictures…I can’t say I blame him.

Ready for Run the Rock! This was my second time doing this race and I had absolutely forgotten how hilly it is. Ouch.

This was taken before I died and told the girls to run without me.

I was so happy to cross that finish line.

So thankful for this runner girl gang! It’s been awhile since we’ve all gotten to run together, so it was so nice to be together Saturday morning. Even if I was the very last one of us to finish. Ha!

Don’t let this smile fool you. I was hurting.

I pulled up the last time I did this race to compare it to Saturday. This time around, I was a whole three minutes per mile slower than the first time I ran. In 2017, I even managed to snag first in my age group! I am definitely far from where I’d like to be with running, but I know consistency will help me improve, so that’s all I can do! Just keep chipping away.

The real reason I do races…finish line beer.

After our race, we headed to brunch at Early Bird. We had our very own babysitters in Graham and Quinn. They wanted Coop to sit with them, so Jake and I got to have full conversations with our friends while the kiddos played. It was wonderful!

After brunch, it was home and time for a nap!

While Coop and I snoozed, Jake headed out for a three hour run. Once he got home, we headed to Tie and Timber for a family date night.

We picked up Skully’s for dinner. It was delicious! These are their kimchi fries. Mmm.

I sure do love these boys.

The toddler teenager…his face. Ha!

Sunday morning started with a little sleeping in for me (THANK YOU, JAKE!!!), then some time together as a family before Jake headed out for a four hour run. He amazes me. Coop and I played, cleaned, and went on a walk while Jake ran.

I just finished this book. It was good! I cried through the last third of it, but I liked it a lot.

I am now reading this one!

Coop got some bike riding in. I should’ve put his shoes on him so he could reach a little better.

Last night, we met Jake’s parents for dinner like we do every Sunday. Sometimes we eat out and sometimes we eat at their house. We ate out last night and enjoyed some sushi. Jake and I shared this plate of deliciousness and it hit the spot!

My birthday is Sunday, so it’s officially my birthday week! I love birthdays – all birthdays, not just mine. I have a spa day scheduled for Friday and I am beyond excited about it. I think I’ve been excited since I booked it all two months ago. HA!

Happy Monday, friends!
