We headed to the doctor Friday afternoon because this poor kid has been running a low grade fever off and on for about two weeks. He’s acting okay, just a little extra fussy every once and awhile. He was checked for an ear infection last weekend and all was clear, so we aren’t sure what’s going on. He loves going to the doctor to see the fish.

His pediatrician checked his ears, which were clear, swabbed him for strep, which came back negative, but then he had to get some blood drawn to test for mono. I didn’t even know that was possible at this age! We are STILL waiting on those results. They were only supposed to take 24 hours…hopefully we hear back today. I was expecting the worst with the blood draw, but he was an absolute champ. He didn’t even flinch when they poked him and then just watched as they collected the sample. He’s much tougher than I am! He even told the girl thank you when she pulled the needle out.

Bath time Coop is always smiling.

We did some fun sensory play with rice and dry beans. The rice was not a good idea with an almost two year old…I should have just stuck with the beans. I had to vacuum up rice about 12 times.

I put out some Valentine’s Day decorations. I might like these decorations as much as I like our Christmas decorations.

We watched the Chiefs play Saturday night while Jake was out working. Coop was pretty excited about all touchdowns that happened.

I want to make Coop’s birthday cake from scratch, so I did a trial run yesterday. It turned out pretty dang delicious! I love the messy frosting look. I have some cute stuff to put on top of it for his party. I can’t believe my baby is going to be two!

We shared a piece and I think he was pretty excited about it.

Just me and the boys, hanging on the couch.

We are trying all kinds of activities. This bought me enough time to clean the kitchen and fold a load of laundry, ha! Water painting on cardboard. He loved it!

My spring semester starts tomorrow, so we’re soaking up my last day before classes start. We are definitely starting to go a little stir crazy with all the bad weather we’ve had. Poor Jake has worked most of the weekend. I can’t imagine working outside in this weather. We appreciate all the hard working linemen out there!
Happy Monday, friends!
