Weekend Wrap-up: necessities + busy weekend + don’t blink

Man, you know it was a busy weekend when I don’t have many pictures to share. We didn’t do all that much, but were just busy every day, ya know what I mean? On Friday, I ran to the grocery store for necessities…tortillas chips, shredded cheese, and sweet tea. This is basically 50% of my diet right now. HA!

Mmmmm. I can’t stop. Although, I will say…it’s 7:15am as I’m writing this and chips and cheese don’t sound great at the moment, so maybe I’ll venture out and have a different lunch…who knows. Sweet tea sounds amazing, so that’ll never stop being a craving. I failed to get any pictures, but we had dinner at my parents’ house Friday night. Coop had a blast chasing their cats around outside.

Jake spent the morning and afternoon on Saturday working in our yard, hauling brush away. Huge thank you to his dad, Jeff, who helped! Jake’s been clearing out our fence row, which had gotten overtaken with thorny vines. Our backyard looks SO good now! While he did that, Coop and I played inside. We are still potty training, so we’re sticking close to home. And potties. Also, don’t blink, friends. Ugh. How is he so big? Coop and I napped for about two and half hours on Saturday. It was amazing. I feel like I’m finally almost caught up on sleep. Almost. Jake’s dad and stepmom came over for pizza Saturday night, which Coop loved. I think he wore himself out trying to show them every single one of his toys.

Jake took over toddler and potty training duty on Sunday so I could knock out some things around the house. Once Coop went down for a nap, I did a little computer work and Jake ran errands. Coop woke up early, so I rocked him to get him back down, then just enjoyed the snuggles while he snoozed.

Once he was up from his nap, we played and played and played until it was time to head to Jake’s parents’ house for Sunday family dinner. We got lots of family time this weekend and it was wonderful. Potty training is going well….he’s still very much learning, but we’re proud of him. Trying to just trust the process and not get in a rush. Easier said than done some days!

It’s getting close to crunch time at work – my semester ends May 10th, which technically means I could be finished working, but I can’t access my fall courses until later in May and I want to have them all built before the baby is here, so I’ll probably work until we have the baby. We also have a bunch of projects to knock out around the house, so we’re trying to slowly (quickly) chip away at those. I may or may not have made a table with each project and a timeline for it…we’ll see if we can stick to it, ha! I’m thankful Jake is also Type-A and doesn’t mind my lists. It doesn’t just have projects for him, either! It has everything we both need and want to get done. So far, we managed to get everything knocked out that we wanted to last week. Fingers crossed we can stay productive and not add too many things to the list…

Happy Monday, friends!
