Weekend Wrap-up!

We accomplished SO much this weekend. We painted our fireplace, the living room ceiling, the living room walls, the kitchen, the laundry room ceiling, primed the laundry room, and primed all of my kitchen cabinet doors and even started painting some of them! Oh, and we hung up lights and replaced all of our light covers. Holy cow. It’s starting to look like a real home! There is NO way we could’ve done all of that without help this weekend. Thank you to everyone who pitched in. You guys are the best. Friday morning started with breakfast before taking over lots of loads of boxes. My friend, Kayla, came and helped me move things. It’s crazy how much faster moving boxes goes with more than one person – HA!

While she and I unloaded boxes, Jake and his Dad painted our fireplace. The shelves are just taped off, they will be painted the same color and then eventually we will cover them with some rough-cut wood shelving. I cannot wait to see this finished. I love it. The color is called Wrought Iron by Benjamin Moore.

Enjoying a much deserved beverage in front of the newly painted fireplace.

When I finished working at the house Friday, I showered super quickly and headed over to my friend Adrienne’s house for a mother/daughter date night. Adrienne is the BEST hostess. Ever. She made the most delicious drink – I think she called it a Tipsy Reindeer. It had pomegranate juice, grapefruit juice, vodka, ginger beer, and champagne. It was amazing.

She also made the cutest (and tastiest) charcuterie board.

We have been having mother/daughter dates for years…maybe 8ish years? Adrienne just moved here from Chicago, so I am excited for a lot more dates.

Saturday morning started with 10 chilly miles. Rhea and I met Jordan and Kayla.

It felt good to knock out a double digit run. I’ve been skipping some runs lately, so I was glad these two motivated me to get out there and get some miles.

Post-run breakfast burrito.

I shared a new product I’m loving for my hair (HERE). I got a few messages asking what I put in my hair when I style it. Here’s the round-up! I mix together the leave-in conditioner (green container) and Argan oil, then I just scrunch in the other two. I let my hair air dry any time I wash it, but these products are all I use now.

I failed to take any pictures, but we worked at the house all day Saturday. It was Jake’s Grandma’s birthday that day, so we had a little dinner party for her that evening. We had the most delicious food. I think I’m still full…

Sunday was a fun day – we put up new light fixtures and changed out light covers – those small changes made our house start to look like a home! Here is the old light fixture from our entryway.

Here’s our new one! We love it.

Here’s our new hallway light.

Kayla snapped this picture of me painting our kitchen walls. She helped us ALL weekend – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – that’s a true friend! <3

I am obsessed with our AirFryer – this is the one we have. I have gotten a couple of questions about it – highly, highly recommend!

We move Wednesday, so this week is going to be a little crazy…I feel like I’ve been saying that for the past month, HA! I just finished grading everything for one of my classes, so those grades are submitted. I only have one more to grade and then it’s a couple weeks off!

Happy Monday, friends!
