Beach day + I can’t stop reading this book + a delicious meal!

After our run and my shot, we headed to the beach for a few hours. The weather was amazing! It was hot, but there was a nice breeze, which was good. The water was freezing!

My old suits don’t fit now, so I got two new ones. All these meds really take a toll on your body, but I try to remind myself that it’s just the season I’m in right now. That’s a part of life, I guess! It’s crazy to think that in May, we will have been doing IVF-related things for a year. That blows my mind! I wrote down our timeline of everything for a friend who is about to start this journey, and I couldn’t believe it had almost been a year.

Jake and my Grandma are braver than I am! That water was SO cold. Jake got in up to his chest. I don’t know how he did it.

I cannot put this book down. 10/10 recommend. You can read more about it HERE, but it is about a family of four who move to Saudi Arabia when the husband is offered a job. You get an in-depth look into the culture, how foreigners navigate the culture, and see the importance of friendship. Each time I pick it up, I can’t put it down!

We had a late lunch at Miss Vicki’s on the Rive and this was our view. Gorgeous.

We were all pretty worn out after the beach, so we lounged when we got back. Jake napped and I read my book. I wanted to nap, but I could not put my book down, so I just read. I also did a little computer work. For dinner, my Grandpa made a feast! He made this chicken and artichoke dish and holy wow – it’s amazing. I took a picture of the recipe (it’s below) because Jake and I need to make this.

We had the chicken dish, rice and mushrooms, and salad. They sure take care of us!

HERE’s the recipe, with a picture just in case the link is ever taken down:

After dinner, the boys watched baseball and my Grandma and I read, then we stayed up way too late talking with Jake, but we were having too much fun to go to sleep.

In honor of Earth Day on Thursday, April 22nd, Trail Sisters will be picking up trash along the Galloway Creek Trail. We will meet at Great Escape Beer Works and walk along the trail, picking up trash, then will make our way back to Great Escape for a beer and to hang out. We’d love to have you join us!

I’ve got another IVF update HERE!

Happy Wednesday, friends!
