This weekend was so wonderful. It was amazing to relax and spend lots of time with family. Rewinding to Wednesday evening, Lu and I got lot of couch cuddles while we waited for Jake to get home from work.
Dinner was leftover beef stew. It was delicious. I have been trying to do a better job of freezing things. We have started to talk about getting a deep freeze…I think we would get a lot of use out of one.
This girl turned THREE on Thursday. I think she was in denial about getting a year older Wednesday evening.
Puppy Rhea is my favorite. This was the night we brought her home. Rhea-girl, we sure love you!
This is one of my favorite pictures of these two.
Happy third birthday, Big Girl! You’re the most loving pup I’ve ever known and we are so lucky you’re ours!
Thanksgiving morning started with a family 5k at Fleet Feet. Jake walked with me and the girls and it was such a blast.
The wind was brutal, so the walk was pretty chilly, but I love walking with my little family.
We were fed pancakes after the 5k, which I was VERY excited about. I got them to leave mine a little underdone. YUM.
After our walk, we got cleaned up and headed to my parents’ for lunch. Lu and Rhea wouldn’t leave my Dad’s side as soon as he started slicing the turkey.
We have so much to be thankful for. We were extra thankful this year for our little turkey who will be with us in just a couple short months!
Lunch was delicious. I’m not a huge turkey fan, but I am ALL about the sides. Stuffing? Yes, please.
My people. <3
After lunch with my family, we spent the evening with Jake’s family and some close family friends. It was the perfect day! Rhea and Jake fell asleep like this. I had to document it because it was so precious.
Friday morning started with breakfast in our dining room (YAY!)
We haven’t found a table we like yet to use in this space until my Dad builds our permanent one, so a folding table works for now. It’s amazing to have this room to use. Our house is finally starting to feel like a home.
Jake and I drove around Friday morning, then came home and got to work. I started putting out Christmas decorations and Jake worked on projects around the house. His Dad came over to help, too. Thank you, Jeff!
I always love decorating for Christmas. It makes everything feel so cozy. We need to refinish this door…maybe I can tackle that over my Christmas break from work…
Most of these decorations have been moved, HA! Jake and I decided it was time for some new decorations since we were still combining decorations from when we were both single and nothing matched. We both wanted some more traditional decorations, so I made a trip to Hobby Lobby on Saturday and got some new things. But here is what we had before getting new stuff. We will hopefully get our tree this week!
Lunch was leftovers from Thanksgiving (thanks, Mama!)
We are officially in the third trimester, which is crazy to me. I wrote a second trimester wrap-up (HERE). I shared on social media that we had a little bit of a scary day with baby boy not moving very much on Thursday and Friday. Everything turned out to be okay, but Jake and I both panicked a little. Sweet boy, keep growing and we cannot wait to meet you in about 12ish weeks! <3
Jake and I had a little date night Friday night, which was wonderful. It just hit me that we don’t have much time left just the two of us, so I’m trying to soak it up.
Saturday morning consisted of pancakes and eggs with leftover turkey – yum again.
Jake played in a golf tournament with his parents Saturday afternoon and I ran to Hobby Lobby to get some new Christmas decorations. Everything was 50% off, so I found some good deals. Lunch was leftovers from our date night the night before.
Here’s a low quality of some of the decorations I snagged. We don’t like the stockings, so I’m going to return those, but we love everything else! I’ll take a better photo once we get our living room put back together. We got our tv hung this weekend, HUGE YAY, so now I need to organize this room again.
I felt like getting a little crafty, so I grabbed some stuff to make this cute garland I saw on Pinterest.
Here’s the finished product. I love how it turned out!
We grabbed breakfast from Kingdom Coffee Sunday morning, then Jake finished getting ready to hang our tv and I meal prepped. I am trying to make extras of things to freeze so we have a little stockpile of food once baby boy is here. I made two quiches – one to freeze and one for me to have this week. These have ham, feta, and broccoli. They’re delicious.
I made burritos for Jake – these have spicy sausage, hash browns, black beans, cheese, and egg.
My lunches this week are teriyaki turkey with cauliflower rice. I made an extra pound of the turkey to freeze.
Jake’s lunches are sandwiches with veggies.
Jake and I got our tv hung on Sunday JUST in time for Yellowstone. I’ll share better pictures on Wednesday. We rearranged the entire room and it looks SO much better and feels way cozier. I love it.
Someone has already destroyed her birthday present…poor snake.
Jake’s parents and sister came over to watch Yellowstone with us, so we ordered pizzas and I threw together a salad.
I went to the gym this morning and came home SO excited to lounge in the living room. Moving things around and hanging the tv have made this room a million times better. I love it so much.
I hardly slept last night…my carpal tunnel is so terrible and has been waking me up most nights. It was definitely the worst it’s been last night. I see my doctor today, so I’m going to ask her if there’s anything I can do to help with the carpal tunnel symptoms. Who knew this was a common side effect of pregnancy? Crazy.
Happy Monday, friends!
